I love this quote from Steve Krug, author of Don’t Make Me Think, a classic in usability and design:

"It doesn’t matter how many times I have to click, as long as each click is a mindless, unambiguous choice."

The same principle applies to LinkedIn.

People don’t scroll past your content because they’re lazy.
They scroll because they’re overloaded.

Too many posts are asking too much of the reader—
Too many directions.
Too many buzzwords.
Too little clarity.

So what makes LinkedIn content actually work?
Here’s the process I use to design content that gets attention, earns trust, and converts:

1. Start with the core message

Most LinkedIn posts start as a brain dump:
👉 Expertise
👉 Offers
👉 Opinions
👉 Experience

But without structure, they blur into the feed and get ignored.

2. Strip away what doesn’t serve the scroll

The real skill is knowing what not to say.

That means cutting:

  • Fluff that sounds clever but says nothing

  • Jargon only insiders understand

  • Details that overwhelm instead of clarify

Good content isn’t about more it’s about precision.

3. Design for clarity and flow

Once the message is distilled, it’s time to design:

✔ A scroll-stopping hook
✔ Clear visual hierarchy
✔ A CTA that feels like the obvious next step

This is where content turns from invisible → magnetic.

4. Test and iterate

No matter how well-designed, content lives and dies by the scroll.

That’s why I build feedback loops into every post:

  • What are people reacting to?

  • Where do they drop off?

  • What message really resonates?

The answers shape what comes next.

When it works, this happens:

→ People stop scrolling
→ They understand exactly what you do
→ They message you because they get your value

That’s what strategic content design does.
